DeMarcus Cousins loves the hate caused by signing with Warriors

Cousins was well on his way to a career year this past season. In the clip, the National Basketball Association big man shared how he was up for two days straight at the start of free agency, uncertain of where he'd land a deal.

"He openly said he knows I wouldn't get as many touches and I don't give a, I don't care". I don't give a f***.

Cousins didn't stop there, though, as he said" "There's some motherf****** out there that's probably ripping their hair out right now, and I love it. But, it's just kind of amusing because before the whole thing started, I was just kind of wasted. "I really just wanted to see what each guy's mindset was and compare it to my own".

Cousins seemed to have accepted the potentially career-altering impact of the Achilles tendon tear he suffered last season, an injury that has proven to provide a hard path to recovery.

The Warriors set up their first press conference with their newest All-Star to introduce him to Golden State's fans and the swath of media that covers the team.

On January 26, Cousins completely ruptured his left achilles tendon in a Pelicans 115-113 win over the Houston Rockets.

Cousins added: "This is my ace of spades". But how does that help me?

DeMarcus Cousins said Klay Thompson is "by far" his favorite Warrior: "For him to be as boring as he is, there is never a tiresome moment".

Before his injury in February, Cousins expected to receive a five-year, $150 million contract extension from the Pelicans.

Cousins turned serious at one point when asked about reports that he had been offered a new contract by New Orleans before signing with Golden State.

"I understand. They had a big year", Cousins said in a somewhat sarcastic tone. I'm a damaged player.

Looking relaxed while sitting on a stage next to Warriors general manager Bob Myers, Cousins was at ease during a news conference at the team's practice facility. Just kind of, just bulls-t answers.

To not upset the apple cart in Golden State though, Cousins spoke to Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, and Draymond Green at the Warriors prior to the move to see what they thought about it.

Many fans were not happy when Cousins accepted the Warriors deal. He voiced similar things in that interview that he references in his Showtime clip - the lack of offers once free agency began, the notion of going to an elite team on a cheaper deal and more. He played with several members of the Warriors while winning a gold medal as part of Team USA during the 2016 Summer Olympics. That group was Jo Jo White, Charlie Scott, Dave Cowens, Paul Silas and John Havlicek.
