Dick Cheney signs waterboarding kit in Sacha Baron Cohen's latest teaser

The new series on Showtime will reportedly be similar, and feature stunts involving President Donald Trump as well as other celebrities, including a segment with OJ Simpson reportedly shot back in February in his Las Vegas hotel room. Now, new posters and trailers give us a peek at Baron Cohen's new character, who is ready to mock America in the aptly titled series Who is America?

The more we find out about Sacha Baron Cohen's new secret project, the more people are getting excited ... and maybe a little creeped out.

Now, the first teaser for his new series for USA network Showtime has dropped, and it looks very promising, indeed.

Cohen has a history with Trump, having duped the real estate magnate to do an on-camera interview with a ploy to pitch "Ice Cream Gloves" during a 2003 segment on Da Ali G Show. Then there's a flurry of images (including at least one that's NSFW) that ends with Cheney being hesitantly asked by Cohen to sign "a waterboard kit" and then autographing a water jug.

Who Is America? is set to premiere in the States on Sunday 15 July, with no set release date for this side of the Atlantic just yet.

Well, you can't say Cohen didn't warn us. Cheney responds, "Sure", and adds with a smile, "That's the first time I've ever signed a waterboard". The last time he appeared on the big screen was in 2016's Grimsby and Alice Through the Looking Glass. Now we'll have to wait and see if he got anyone even higher in the chain of command than Cheney.

The series begins in America on Sunday, with Channel 4 then showing episodes a night later (from Monday 16th July) in a 10pm slot.
