Georgia Politician Fights Terrorism by Mooning Sacha Baron Cohen

Georgia Politician Fights Terrorism by Mooning Sacha Baron Cohen

"People in South Georgia are people of action, not drama".

In the bit, Cohen is in character as an Israeli counterterrorist named Col. Erran Morad. He dropped the bill after backlash from opponents who called it anti-Muslim. He told Spencer to pretend to be Chinese, and Spencer babbled, "Konnichiwa. red dragon".

Later, Cohen says that if Spencer is ever in immediate danger of being kidnapped, Spencer should use "the n-word", which he calls America's "one forbidden word", to draw attention to himself.

Episode two, which dropped on Monday, sees the serial prankster convince a politician to drop his trousers and scream the n-word as part of a mock anti-terrorism training session.

In a post-credits segment, Spencer was seen yelling the "n-word" into the camera once again, using a form of the word that is specifically offensive to Arabic persons. "Not this word. This word is disgusting".

Toward the end of the video, Cohen convinces Spencer to take off his trousers and shout "America" while pushing his buttocks into someone. "You drop that gun right now. USA!" Spencer says, running with his trousers down. It was the second episode of "Who Is America?".

He was recently defeated in a GOP primary, so the current term of office will be his last - and there is now doubt as to whether he can possibly complete his time in office after this performance.

On Monday, Spencer apologized for the "ridiculously ugly episode" but refused to resign. He added that the show "exploited my state of mind for profit and notoriety".

Governor Nathan Deal had strong words as well, saying he is "saddened and disgusted" by Spencer's actions. "Representative Spencer has disgraced himself and should resign immediately", said House Speaker David Ralston, R- Blue Ridge, in a statement.

"The ignorance and malice behind Islamophobia has led Mr Spencer to not only pursue bad policy, but engage in humiliating and hateful behavior unbecoming of anyone - especially a state legislator", said Edward Ahmed Mitchell, director of the group's Georgia chapter. "At the very least, he should issue a public apology for this shameful incident".

Spencer who has reportedly faced death threats for a burqa ban he introduced in the state legislature, was tricked by Cohen into participating in a fake anti-terrorism training, which included screaming the N-word at potential attackers, and attempting to touch them with his naked behind. Many viewers are calling for Spencer to be fired from the Georgia state house, but even without Baron Cohen's help, it looks like his political career will be over soon: Spencer lost his primary race in May, so he'll have plenty of time in the coming months to do damage control.

The legislator claimed that Cohen knew of his vulnerability. "They took advantage of my fears that I would be attacked by someone inspired by the vile rhetoric used against me".
