How to get tickets to Global Citizen Festival

If you happen to find yourself in Johannesburg, South Africa this December then you're there at the right time since there will be a free festival with a stacked line-up.

A host of worldwide celebrities will be heading to South Africa in December to be part of the Global Citizen Festival‚ a free and ticketless concert that rallies celebs‚ politicians and global leaders to end extreme poverty.

There will be 100,000 tickets and 70,000 of them are free for you to earn by doing your bit to alleviate poverty in society.

Femi said, "The Global Citizen Festival: Mandela 100 is a great opportunity to use the emotive power of music to draw attention to the issue of extreme poverty globally".

Others headlining the festival include Ed Sheeran, Usher, Pharrell Williams and African artists including Wizkid, Cassper Nyovest and Femi Kuti. Oprah has been tapped as this year's keynote speaker, with Rolling Stone reporting that Tyler Perry and Naomi Campbell will also serve as hosts for the Nelson Mandela-honoring event. Madiba was a man whose values and wisdom have left a lasting imprint on this world.

Global Citizen has generated commitments and policy announcements from leaders valued at more than $37.9 billion that are set to affect the lives of more than 2.25 billion people. It will take place in a number of countries across the world and aims to spread the message and ethos of the Global Citizen.

So how do I get a free ticket?

The festival, which will also see Beyonce and Jay Z perform, is taking action on health and nutrition, education, gender equality, water and sanitation, and the criminalisation of poverty.
