Kylie Jenner, 20, set to become youngest self-made billionaire

Kylie Jenner, 20, set to become youngest self-made billionaire

Jenner is both the face of the company and the sole owner.

Forbes released its fourth annual list of the richest self-made women in the US on Thursday, singling out Kylie Jenner for recognition on the magazine's cover.

The bulk of her income is derived from Kylie Cosmetics, best known for its lip kits.

As RadarOnline.com readers know, the gorgeous 21-year-old influencer has gained fame-and cash-from her wildly popular Kylie Cosmetics brand, as well as from her Instagram style and short-lived reality show.

Her first round of kits sold out in less than a minute. I do feel like people don't take me seriously as a businesswoman because of my age and my reputation.

Coupled with the millions she was already earning from Keeping Up With the Kardashians and endorsement deals, the new mom is "conservatively worth $900 million", which, when you factor in her mere two decades on the planet, "makes her the youngest person on [Forbes'] fourth annual ranking of America's Richest Self-Made Women". At the time, Kris Jenner, Kylie's mother, who rakes in 10 percent of all her children's earnings, said the company had collected $420 million in retail sales over 19 months. It's her hope that her mini me will some day take over her beauty business.

However, upon realising that she has a huge following on social media, Kylie says that helped her get easier access to her supporters, and maybe that's why her business is doing so well.

"Ever since I was in sixth grade, I would wear purple eye shadow", Jenner said. Kylie Cosmetics is worth an estimated $800 million.

The youngest member of the Kardashian/Jenner family is on the latest cover for Forbes and it's for a pretty impressive reason. She takes to Instagram and Snapchat almost hourly posting pouting selfies about which shade of Kylie Cosmetics she's wearing, posts videos of upcoming products, and announces new launches.

If she does, she would easily surpass Irish tech entrepreneur John Collison, 27, as the world's youngest self-made billionaire. "It could easily be an instant game-changing acquisition for any company on the hunt for a winning brand with a younger customer", senior VP or merchandising at Ulta Tara Simon said.
