Manchester City Keen On Miralem Pjanic and Mateo Kovacic

Manchester City Keen On Miralem Pjanic and Mateo Kovacic

Pep Guardiola says no-one can doubt the quality of goalkeeper Joe Hart even though he is set to leave the Premier League champions this summer.

To date, he's played in one competitive fixture under Guardiola, who dropped Hart as City's first choice 'keeper on arrival - essentially due to him feeling his ball-playing skills were not up to his standard - and so the 75-time capped England global would subsequently enjoy the last two seasons on loan, firstly with Serie A outfit Torino before temporarily joining West Ham last term.

Ireland under-19 global Tyreke Wilson has been called into the Manchester City squad for their pre-season tour of the US. "We had just one week or ten days together - most of the team played together for the first time". He is training like a young guy of 18 years old.

"Of course, we prefer to win the game but we know what is going to happen in pre-season", Guardiola told reporters.

"But he is with us".

Guardiola has travelled to the United States for games against Borussia Dortmund, Liverpool and Bayern Munich with a squad made up mostly of young players as many of his regular stars are enjoying an extended break following their exploits in Russian Federation.

But one player who will be involved against Dortmund is out-of-favour goalkeeper Joe Hart.

City tried to sign the Italy midfielder from Napoli but he opted for a move to Chelsea.

On Jorginho, Guardiola added: "I was disappointed (not to sign him)".

Instead, the Italy global followed new Blues head coach Maurizio Sarri from Napoli to Stamford Bridge, becoming the club's first signing of the summer transfer window.

Hart endured a hard loan spell at West Ham last season and has been expected to finally leave City for good before the new Premier League campaign starts. "In his situation, he's here and we will try to find a solution, which is best for him and if not he'll stay here".

Guardiola also said of City winger Leroy Sane being left out of Germany's World Cup squad: "Maybe this decision will make him stronger".
