Ritz crackers nationwide due to salmonella

Ritz crackers nationwide due to salmonella

Fast & Fancy broccoli and cheddar, as well as country chicken flavoured rice are being pulled over concerns of possible salmonella contamination in the seasoning pouches in these two products.

Various Ritz Cracker products are being voluntarily recalled throughout the United States, including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, due to concerns about possible Salmonella contamination.

So far no complains of illnesses connected to the products included in the recall have been reported to Mondelez Global.

The company says that, while there have been no complaints about illness related to the crackers, they are conducting the recall as a precaution.

They added that they are working with a "limited number" of impacted retailers to have the products removed from store shelves.

Healthy people infected with salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.

The company is recommending consumers bring them back or dispose of them.
