Academy Announces Major Changes to Oscars 2020

Whereas awards shows like the MTV Movie Awards hand out prizes for those films that are a big hit with the general public, the Oscars focuses purely on technical craft: popularity and box office numbers be damned.

The American Academy of motion picture arts approved three new changes to the ceremony "Oscar" and from 2019 will introduce a new category of awards for the outstanding film, tells the Chronicle.info with reference to Gordon.

The Academy has always been accused of snubbing commercially blockbuster films whose genres aren't typically considered Oscar-worthy. Specific categories will be determined at a later date, but the film academy said the off-air winning moments will be edited and aired in a later broadcast.

Criteria for nomination new nomination will be determined in the near future. Despite good intentions, this does nothing but devalue the smaller Oscar categories even more than they already were before.

Venturing into unfamiliar territory can lead to some great decisions with long shelf lives, but the Oscars seem to have taken it a bit too far by announcing several new changes to the Oscar ceremonies, starting in 2020. "Here comes the Academy, establishing a corner to which voters can banish (Black Panther) and other films like it with a pat on the head and a "'thanks for playing'".

The problem here is this. Including past winners that are blockbuster films like Titanic and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. Though the direction certainly helped, it was the editor (s) that made the film flow like water and suddenly their work is not important enough to honor on live TV?

It is good news for sequels and superheroes, as the Academy announced a brand new category for the Oscars. It's not that big blockbusters don't get nominated for or win Oscars, but that doesn't always happen, and the Best Picture category has typically been reserved for indie flicks with critical acclaim and so-so revenue.

Supposedly, The Oscars a ceremony to honor all aspects of the film industry.
