Arsenal goalkeeper Cech proud after Dublin performance for Chelsea win

After five flawless spot-kicks apiece, Cech guessed right and pushed away a tame strike from Ruben Loftus-Cheek, allowing Alex Iwobi to step up to ensure Arsenal's ICC campaign ends on a high.

Cesc Fabregas' shot, after a fine run from Hudson-Odoi, was turned behind by Cech and from the resulting corner the unmarked Rudiger rose highest to power home a header.

Gunners manager Unai Emery, himself embarking on a new chapter at the London club, watched on as his side edged the eighth meeting in 13 months between these two sides, taking Arsenal to six points from their three matches in the prestige friendly competition.

Both sides produced a flawless set of five penalties each to send the shootout to sudden death. Arsenal, meanwhile, were forced to withdraw Aaron Ramsey from their starting XI after he picked up an injury in the warm-up, with youngster Emile Smith-Rowe stepping in.

Callum Hudson-Odoi will get his chance to impress in the Premier League this year, Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has confirmed.

Toni Rudiger put the Blues ahead and Alvaro Morata had a penalty saved by Petr Cech before Alexandre Lacazette equalised in the final seconds of the game.

Hudson-Odoi proved a thorn in Arsenal's side in Ireland, drawing a foul from Hector Bellerin to win his side a penalty.

However, Cech dived to his right to keep out Morata's spot-kick.

Arsenal finally found a foothold in the game and, when Henrikh Mkhitaryan slotted a fantastic low cross into the box, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang somehow failed to convert at the back post.

Odoi, Morata and Pedro Rodriguez also came close but were denied by Cech.

At the end of the first period Hudson-Odoi showed his electric pace again, racing on to Fabregas's ball over the top only to be denied by the onrushing Cech.

Alex Iwobi's introduction on 65 minutes brought fresh urgency to Arsenal, and the Nigeria worldwide had shots saved by both by Caballero and his replacement Marcin Bulka.

Cech had a chance to made amends less than ten minutes later.
