At least 91 dead after quake hits Indonesia’s Lombok island

The natural disaster, initially reported to be of 7.0-magnitude before the U.S. Geological Service downgraded it to a 6.9, struck the island of Lombok-a popular spot with tourists-where last week's quake also hit.

This quake struck the tourist island of Lombok, killing 98 people and injuring hundreds.

Indonesia, one of the most disaster-prone nations on earth, straddles the so-called Pacific "Ring of Fire", where tectonic plates collide and numerous world's volcanic eruptions and earthquakes occur.

At least 209 people were injured.

To anticipate passenger movement following the natural disaster, Garuda has added three extra flights on the Lombok-Denpasar route with the following schedule: GA7053 departing Lombok at 2:40 p.m. local time, GA4377 at 4:40 p.m. and.
