Everton's season-long loan deal for Portugal's Gomes will see them pay 2.25 million euros and the player's wages.

On Thursday evening, Barcelona officially announced the transfer of Yerry Mina to Everton, although the Catalan club will have the option to repurchase the player if they so desire.

Bernard began his professional career at Atletico Mineiro in 2010 before joining the Ukrainian champions three years later, where he won the Ukrainian Premier League, Ukrainian Super Cup and Ukrainian Cup three times each.

Mina had always been linked with a move away from Barcelona this summer with the club's purchases of non-EU players in Malcom, Arthur and Arturo Vidal filling their quote per La Liga's rules.

Chelsea had looked into adding the Brazilian to their squad, and even offered him a contract, but ultimately Bernard was swayed by the chance of more regular football under the guidance of Silva at Everton.

Fellow Barca bench player Andre Gomes has also made a decision to join the Toffees on a loan deal after consultation with Mina. He has achieved really good things at other clubs.

'I chose Everton because of all the things I'd heard about Marco Silva and because Everton is a club with a lot of tradition, ' Bernard told the club's official website.

Mina, who was in the sights of Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain, has signed a five-year deal for a fee potentially rising to €31.75milllion. "When I found out about this opportunity and what the manager wanted out of me I was happy".

"I spoke to Lucas and he told me all about the Club, which also made me keen to come here".

Portuguese midfielder Gomes is also set to swap the Nou Camp for Goodison as part of a season-long loan deal where he will link up with compatriot Silva.
