Jennifer Lopez Named VMA Vanguard Award Winner

The 2018 MTV Video Music Awards air live from Radio City Music Hall in New York City on August 20, at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

Sway Calloway announced the news today live which was followed by a Facebook Live interview on MTV's page.

Previous winners of the award include Madonna, Beyoncé, Rihanna, Justin Timberlake, and Pink.

Jennifer Lopez's two-decade music career will be honoured at the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards.

The Video Vanguard Award is given to artists to honor their vast catalog of music videos. This marks the third straight year that a woman has been awarded the Vanguard award. It was renamed in 1991 in honour of Pop king Michael Jackson.

She previously won Best Dance Video "Waiting for Tonight" in 2000, and Best Hip-Hop Video "I'm Real" in 2002.

The hitmaker released her debut album, On The 6, in 1999 and has gone on to sell over 80 million records worldwide.

Jennifer Lopez is adding another trophy to her growing collection next month. I can't even believe it. On top of that, Jenny from the block is also nominated for Best Collaboration and Best Latin Video for her over-the-top "Dinero" clip with DJ Khaled and Cardi B.
