Missing pregnant woman’s body found near husband’s work in Colorado

A Frederick man was arrested on murder charges three days after his pregnant wife and two young daughters were reported missing, according to Denver7.

It is with deep hurt, confusion and anger to confirm our lovely cousin Shanann Watts, her unborn child, and her two angelic daughters, Bella (4), Celeste (3) were viciously murdered by husband Chris Watts; who confessed to the killings.

He was charged with three counts of first-degree murder and three counts of tampering with evidence.

Chris Watts was being held in jail and will appear in court Thursday.

By Tuesday afternoon, the CBI issued an endangered missing alert for all three.

Police are expected to release more information during a news conference scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Colorado time.

A law enforcement source familiar with the investigation confirmed those details to 9Wants to Know.

"Shanann has a schedule and she goes by that schedule and she does not deviate", said high school friend Lauren Arnold.

Ashley Bell says she became close friends with Shanann Watts after Watts visited Bell's tanning salon two years ago. Her husband told police he came home and his wife and their two children were gone. Last night was traumatic.

Chris Watts spoke previously with The Denver Channel and pleaded for his family's safe return. She saw her go inside.

Christopher Watts said Tuesday that he didn't know where his wife and daughters were. "Bella. She's the more calm, cautious, mothering type and she's more like me - she's more calm". He said he came home to an empty house after a friend knocked on the door at noon and got no answer. Police have not said if they suspect foul play and didn't specify where Watts and her daughters were last seen.

Chris Watts, 33, was arrested Wednesday night in the deaths of Shanann Watts and their 3- and 4-year-old daughters, Bella and CeCe Watts, the Frederick Police Department said. "Please bring them back". I need to see everybody.

"At this point we have been able to recover a body that we're quite certain is Shanann Watts' body", Colorado Bureau of Investigation Director John Camper said, according to CNN. "I miss telling them, 'Hey, you gotta eat that or you're not gonna get your dessert'".

In an angry Facebook post early Thursday, Frankie Rzucek of Aberdeen said he is Shanann Watts' brother and wrote: "I just want to know why".

She and 4-year-old Bella and 3-year-old Celeste were reported missing Monday.
