Nintendo Leaks New 'Super Smash Bros.' Character

He kicked off the Super Smash Bros.

Here's a rundown of some of the key announcements...

Sure it looked like he was going to be fine - maybe - after Simon saved him, but the mental damage has been done.

Simon's signature stage is Dracula's Castle, which includes cameos from all the series' most iconic bosses, including, naturally enough, Dracula himself. Up until now, each stage had its own music track.

In addition to Simon, you can also play as Richter Belmont from Castlevania: Rondo of Blood.

The "king of the kremlings", so to speak, has been a popular fan request for some time, and he'll bring some unique moves along with his fearsome countenance to the game. And, at long last, Donkey Kong's nemesis, King K. Rool, will be a playable fighter. He attacks with a blunderbuss that can fire cannonballs at opponents, and throws his crown, which acts like a boomerang.

Since we mentioned echo fighters, two others are being added based on previously existing characters: Chrom, from the Fire Emblem series, and Dark Samus, from the Metroid series. The kids-turned-squids and sinister Space Pirate are set to be joined in the fray by at least five more new brawlers, as revealed in today's Direct delivering. The classic Pokemon Stadium, Unova Pokemon League, Garden of Hope, Brinstar Depths, Summit, Magicant, Gamer, and Final Destination stages were all confirmed to be returning. This is made more exciting by the sheer number of stages available in Ultimate: 103, a number of which appeared in previous Smash titles.

Simon Belmont, the vampire hunter of Castlevania, is joining the roster of Super Smash Bros. There's also a default tournament mode and more concessions for stamina (HP) mode. If they are fighting on a stage from The Legend of Zelda, for example, they can select any music track included from that franchise, including new additions like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Main Theme.

Nintendo also announced a slew of other new information. There's even a completely new mode of gameplay which Sakurai teased but did not reveal.
