PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Kicks Off 'Fix PUBG' Campaign

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Kicks Off 'Fix PUBG' Campaign

The "Fix PUBG" campaign was announced on Steam and promises to fix not just the innumerable bugs and glitches but address performance issues and anti-cheat measures.

Calling it "FIX PUBG", the website is the start of an initiative that will see Bluehole Studio attempting to tackle all of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds' known issues by being more transparent about its operations behind the scenes.

"This is a phrase that we've been hearing a lot lately", reads a site statement, referencing the common player complaint, "Fix the game". PUBG Corp. wants to up PUBG's tick rate, especially as it relates to objects close to you and early in the game (no more laggy landings).

As usual, the new patch targets issues players have noted with the game and seeks to address them - the two main targets this time are directional sprinting (addressing something that was introduced in a previous patch) and loading times when entering matches. But when that game is a competitive free-for-all, cheaters take a massive toll on the fun more honorable players have.

Its introduction in the first place likely stemmed from PUBG Corp.'s wish to lower the entry barrier for newcomers to the game but the pro gamers seem to have won this round. In a smart moment of transparency, the team have laid out their plans in a detailed roadmap, so players can see exactly what updates and fixes are in store, and what's already been completed.

Quality-of-life improvements are coming to colorblind mode.

Having launched a dedicated website-which contains a roadmap, a fix log and an FAQ-the developer says it will be "entirely focused" on bug fixes, "fundamental" performance issues and "long-needed" quality of life improvements.

Signing off, the post mentions that even after the campaign has run its course, PUBG Corp will still be taking feedback to ensure no further problems occur.
