Reality star Lyric McHenry dies hours after celebrating birthday; overdose suspected

According to the Daily News, a small Ziplock bag of cocaine was found on McHenry, and police suspect she died of an overdose. And she was allegedly five months pregnant. She was believed to have been 20 weeks pregnant. She was found unresponsive on the sidewalk above the Major Deegan Expressway at Undercliff Ave. and Boscobel Place in Highbridge in the Bronx borough of New York City.

Police confirmed that McHenry - who was best known for her role in the E! reality series, EJNYC - was found unconscious on the side of a highway in the Bronx on early Tuesday morning.

Her knees were bruised but she had no other injuries, according to the New York Daily News.

An autopsy has been scheduled to determine her exact cause of death.

Lyric's mother Jennifer had posted a sweet birthday message for her daughter last week on Instagram, writing, "Happy 26 years my attractive princess Lyric Leigh". The reality star, who turned 26 on August 6, posted videos to Instagram showing her out at the Frederick Hotel, the SoHo Grand and Dream Downtown in Manhattan.

McHenry was constantly posting photos of herself living what seemed to be a fabulous life and often posed with her pal, EJ Johnson.

It appears that McHenry had been celebrating her birthday in the hours before her death.

McHenry was said to have had drugs on her, possibly cocaine. The show lasted one season on E!

In her final clip, which she posted around 1 a.m., she was seen sitting next to a male friend as she blew a kiss to the camera.

Before her stint on television, McHenry was a Ron Brown scholar at Stanford University and worked on Barack Obama's presidential campaign when she was just 15 years old.
