Samuel L. Jackson and Cobie Smulders Join Spider-Man: Far From Home

Samuel L. Jackson and Cobie Smulders Join Spider-Man: Far From Home

However the good news is that it looks like both characters didn't die for real, because both of them are expected to play a role in the upcoming Spider-Man sequel.

In a post from Vulture, the outlet confirms that both Jackson and Smulders will be reprising their roles as Nick Fury and Maria Hill, respectively. J. B. Smoove and Numan Acar are also on board in undisclosed roles.

Jake Gyllenhaal has already been confirmed, and Michael Keaton is rumored to make a return as the incarcerated Vulture. Both were last scene in the post-credits sequence of Avengers: Infinity War, when it was revealed that they were both victims of Thanos' snap, but not before Fury was able to get a message to Captain Marvel, who is presumably somewhere out among the stars in the present of the MCU timeline. Let us know down below! Sony had no comment.

Before he puts on the suit again to begin filming the sequel, Tom Holland can now be seen as Spider-Man in Avengers: Infinity War, which is still playing in theaters.

This will be the first time Nick Fury and Maria Hill have encountered Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We talked about how Far From Home appears to be ditching the Iron Spider suit in favor of the other suit that Tony Stark designed for Peter Parker, which could indicate that the movie takes place before the events of Infinity War instead of after Avengers 4.

This news also means that 2019 will be an even bigger year than we thought for Jackson as Fury. The film will see Peter Parker leave NY, heading to London in a film that will reflect the global aftermath of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4.
