Sergio Ramos hits back at Jurgen Klopp over Mohamed Salah shoulder injury

The spat between Jurgen Klopp and Sergio Ramos continues to rumble on.

The Spaniard's actions in the final included causing the shoulder injury that ended Mohamed Salah's match and clashing with Loris Karius, which resulted in the Liverpool 'keeper suffering a concussion. I have no intention of hurting a player deliberately.

The 32-year-old, who endured a disappointing World Cup this summer with Spain, received wide-ranging criticism following last season's Champions League final, in which his side beat Liverpool to claim their third title in a row.

A few months ago, the Reds' German boss described Ramos as "ruthless and brutal" for the first-half challenge on Salah that forced the Egyptian off early in their UCL final against Real in May.

Real Madrid are set to face arch-rivals Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday, August 15.

The left-back Brazilian couldn't resist a cheeky smile as the room took in Ramos's words.

"I'm not going to highlight this again", the Spain worldwide said when pressed on Klopp's latest comments.

"It's not the first final he's lost, (maybe) he wants to use that as an excuse for losing. Some of us have been operating at a very high level for many years, not sure he can say the same", The Real Madrid captain told ESPN. "Let Klopp worry about his own players". Ramos had a rather strong response when asked about Klopp's views on the matter. "In fact, he's one of the coaches I voted for as the Best of the Year, so perhaps he can stay a little calmer".
