Combined, the vehicles had been valued at about $5.6 million. In an anti-corruption drive, illegally imported luxury vehicles were crushed.

The cars, which included Lamborghinis, Mustangs, Porsches, and eight motorcycles, were valued at more than $5.89 million at current exchange rates.

A Philippines government video shows at least three bulldozers crushing the vehicles, lined up in a row, to applause from a crowd.

In the Philippines, every vehicle is subject to an average rate of 40% customs duty, around 10-12% VAT and ad valorem tax, which relates to the engine size, of 15-100%.
