Analysts also expect Apple to release an iPhone with an edge-to-edge display similar to the iPhone X but using less-costly LCD screen technology.

China Telecom has shared an image (pictured above) which teases dual-SIM capabilities on the upcoming iPhone. Like previous years, we've been fed with various alleged leaks of the upcoming iPhones.

Within a matter of a few hours, we might have iPhone XS, iPhone XR and iPhone XS Max. Apple announced that prices will start from £749/$749 for the 64GB model, rising to £799/$799 for 128GB and £899/$899 for 256GB. The bigger 6.5-inch OLED iPhone will be known as the 'iPhone Xs Max'.

Apple's event comes with the global smartphone market largely saturated, without a major catalyst for sales ahead of a likely rollout of 5G, or fifth generation wireless networks, expected in 2019. Now a social media post from China telecom, which is one of the biggest iPhone customers, hints that at least one of the iPhones that will be launched tomorrow at Apple's September 12 event gather round event will support two SIM cards. "While the West gets the "plus" suffix to mean phablet, using "max" is a new trick in the U.S. and Europe, but is a common conceit in BRIC countries", Ewan Spence of Forbes said. "We believe the new Apple Watch models will attract more users on supporting ECG".

Those differences in the leaked images mean that even though legitimate carriers appear to be teasing the new information, there's still a chance that some of these leaks could be fake or based on speculation.

Meanwhile, Apple's new iPhones have been listed on a Romanian website Quickmobile.

Apple will officially take the veil off the 2018 Dual SIM iPhones at the Steve Jobs Theatre in the Apple Cupertino Campus on September 12, 10 a.m. PDT. i.e 8 p.m GMT+3 in Ugandan time.

These model names are a bit more in line with Apple's traditional naming conventions when compared to previously-reported potential names for the phones, including the odd "iPhone XS Max" and the "iPhone Xr". In the images, the phone features a rather basic design with the presence of a dual SIM slot. "Other platforms may also be able to access the stream using recent versions of Chrome or Firefox (MSE, H.264, and AAC required)".

There may be a new iPad that looks a lot more like the iPhone X.
