Henry Cavill Exits As DCEU's Superman

As the studio attempts to shake up the struggling DC Universe, it is also prioritizing its Harley Quinn "Birds of Prey" spinoff, along with Todd Philip's stand-alone Joker film, and a "Wonder Woman" sequel.

"Warners had been trying to enlist Cavill, who most recently co-starred in Mission: Impossible - Fallout, for a Superman cameo in Shazam!, which stars Zachary Levi and will bow April 5".

It may be time for Henry Cavill to hang up the cape and comb back the spit-curl.

After dying and being resurrected onscreen in the DCEU, it appears that Henry Cavill's Superman is dead again at Warner Bros.

It seems that the DCEU is moving in a new direction, with Aquaman arriving before the end of 2018. and Shazam! coming early next year.

It's worth noting that other DC comics heroes that shared a screen with Cavill in the critically panned "Justice League" will continue with their characters.

The eight-episode Netflix adaptation of the bestselling medieval fantasy book series by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski centers on the protagonist Geralt of Rivia, a monster hunter known as a "Witcher" who travels the countryside slaying terrifying beasts. The plan now is to focus on the standalone Supergirl movie in the works from screenwriter Oren Uziel - presumably at the expense of Man of Steel 2, given the next solo Superman film isn't expected to materialize for at least "several years", according to one source familiar with the situation.
