IPhone XR: Everything you need to know!

IPhone XR: Everything you need to know!

If it's the sheer size that has kept you away from joining the "Plus club", you will find that the iPhone XR to be less intimidating.

The California tech giant said it would begin selling its 5.8-inch iPhone XS and 6.5-inch iPhone XS Max later this month, keeping the starting price of the company's top-end model at $999 but bumping the entry price for the version with the larger screen. The iPhone Xs Max is similar in size to the iPhone 8 Plus, but with a larger display.

The screen on the iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max remains Apple's Super Retina OLED panel, although it's been upgraded as part of the wave of refinements that coursed through the rest of the phone. There's also the stainless collection which are more expensive but come in polished steel and space black.

The most interesting fact here is that Apple has managed to pack a 6.1-inch display in a body that's shorter and narrower than the 5.5-inch iPhone 8 Plus, though at 8.3mm, the iPhone XR is 0.8mm thicker. Both will be go on pre-order on September 14 and launch on September 21 with availability expanding a week later.

What colors will it come in?

Two of the models will be available for preorder on Friday, and should ship within a few weeks. There will also be three versions available for the smartphone: a 64GB model, a 128GB model, and a 256GB model.

What will the iPhone XR cost? And, the home button has been done away with on this model too.

Late past year Apple was hit with a massive iPhone slowdown scandal that seemed to confirm the conspiracy theory that Apple intentionally slows down older iPhone to force users to upgrade.

"iPhone Xs is packed with next-generation technologies and is a huge step forward for the future of the smartphone". That means saying goodbye to the iPhone's "chin and forehead" look that had become associated with it.

The OS, which was first shown off at this year's WWDC, isn't stuffed full of with bells and whistles, and instead focuses on improving the performance and reliability of Apple's iDevices. The iPhone Xs is at last official - alongside the iPhone Xs Max and iPhone XR, and despite all the secrecy and speculation, it's much as everyone expected it to be.

Other: Face ID, NFC, Wireless charging, 3D Touch. And just like on the iPhone X a year ago, you'll now swipe up from the bottom of the display in order to return to your Home screen.

It's all powered by a special camera system that Apple is calling TrueDepth.

'The iPhone Xs Max price reflects the name.,' Twitter user @juhasaarinen wrote.

What should I know about the new A12 Bionic processor?

It is more efficient, and up to 15 percent more faster. Apple has also used a new type of glass, which makes it the most durable display ever.

A breakthrough new 12MP dual camera system with 2x optical zoom and dual optical image stabilisation introduce a new era of iPhone photography. That being said, it still shoots up to 4K at 60 frames per second and is optically stabilized.

The selfie camera has been improved as well. The camera is able to capture even more detail, despite keeping the 12 megapixels that have been present in the iPhone cameras for years now.

The updated bokeh rendering allows you to adjust the depth of field after a photo has been taken. The power of the A12 Bionic chipset has been put to use in the Smart HDR feature. They've also extended the workout time for battery life to 6-hours.
