Tropical Storm Isaac appeared "poorly organized" and was weaker on the early morning hours of Wednesday Sep.

For tropical storms, two's company, three's a crowd and five is, well, unprecedented.

"Jamaica should monitor the progress of Isaac", the hurricane center said Saturday.

"This storm is going to continue its violent grind across our state for days", North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper said. Isaac is expected to move near or over the central Lesser Antilles on Thursday and move into the eastern Carribbean Sea on Thursday night. A watch is typically issued 48 hours before tropical-storm-force winds are expected to arrive, which makes outside preparations hard or unsafe - and Tropical-storm-force winds are possible within the tropical storm watch area today.

Joyce moves west-southwest with a travel speed of 13 kilometers per hour and a turn of the system towards the northeast is forecast over the weekend. The Portuguese government issued a tropical storm warning for all the Azores Islands.

The National Hurricane Center or NHC said "Although the system is still producing areas of deep convection, [satellite imagery] indicated that the circulation had become even less defined".

The National Hurricane Center downgraded Isaac to a tropical storm overnight but said Tuesday that it could be "at or near hurricane levels" on Thursday, when it approaches the Lesser Antilles Islands.

On Monday afternoon, the wind speeds were at approximately 70 miles per hour, when it was downgraded after having been initially classed as a Category 1 hurricane.

NOAA satellite photo taken at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday shows Tropical Storm Isaac, right, on the doorstep of the Antilles, while Hurricane Florence, a Category 4 storm, takes aim at the USA east coast.

Tropical Storm Watches were also discontinued for St. Maarten, St. Martin, Saba and Eustatius. Coastal Flooding: Outside the Storm Surge Watch area, minor coastal flooding could occur around the time of each high tide Thursday and Friday. These swells are likely to cause life-threatening surf and rip current conditions.
