Prince William Gets Candid About His Own Mental Health Sturggles

Prince William Gets Candid About His Own Mental Health Sturggles

Following a study that indicates almost half of employees in the United Kingdom are suffering from mental health problems in the workplace, Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, has launched a mental health website which he unveiled at an event in Bristol on Tuesday. "You see [so] many sad things every day that you think life is like that", William said, according to E!

"I think that for the medical community, particularly, must weigh a lot on their minds: that you're always dealing with despair, sadness, injury, things that are really quite troubling".

Only half of those who had experienced problems with stress, anxiety or low mood had talked to their employer about it.

In turn he shared his own personal experiences from when he worked as an air ambulance pilot. In 2016, William, his wife, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, and his brother, Prince Harry, launched Heads Together, another mental health campaign that sought to provide people with support in speaking about their mental health challenges with the aim to "change the conversation and tackle the stigma around mental health".

"As employers, we have a real opportunity to change the way we approach mental health, giving our people the support they need to thrive".

A total of 44,000 workers were questioned as part of the survey by Mind and only half of those who had experienced poor mental health said they had talked to their employer about the issue.

During the event, the duke visited workshops demonstrating the gateway and met people trying out the new system.

The prince said he wanted the gateway to be a "big shift in working culture" and ensure that dealing with mental health is a part of the everyday working life. He is so calm and approachable.

Among all the glamour and luxury that seems to accompany a member of the British royal family, Prince William reminds us that he too is human. She also works part-time in an office, even though sometimes she can go through stages of poor mental health.
