Surgeon, woman accused of drugging and raping women

The pair were charged on September 11 with rape by use of drugs, oral copulation by anesthesia or controlled substance, assault with intent to commit sexual offense and possession of a controlled substance for sale. When she became intoxicated, the couple took her to their apartment, authorities said. Robicheaux appeared in an episode of the Bravo reality series Online Dating Rituals of the American Male, reports People.

Mr Robicheaux is further accused of possessing two unregistered semi-automatic rifles, four other firearms and magazines capable of carrying large amounts of ammunition, according to a press release.

Often times, the assaults were videotaped, Rackauckas said.

"I am being told by investigators that their phones have been very active this afternoon", said Michelle Van Der Linden, a spokeswoman for Orange County prosecutors. Rackauckas said investigators believe there are many more victims: They found hundreds of videos on Robicheaux's cellphone featuring women who appear "past the point of consent", he said.

The pair are due to be formally charged in court on 24 October.

Glamorous couple Grant Robicheaux and Cerissa Riley have been hit with some ugly criminal charges, after being accused of plying women with drugs and allegedly sexually assaulting them.

Robicheaux went to Louisiana State University for his undergraduate degree and his medical training, graduating in 2007.

He specializes in "traumatic and sports-related injuries" as well as arthritis and aging issues, according to the medical group.

Robicheaux was also charged with possession of an assault weapon, and faces a special enhancement of being armed with a firearm during a health and safety code violation. "Based on this evidence, we believe there may be many unidentified victims out there".

Rackauckas said investigators are now reviewing the hundreds of videos found on Robicheaux's cellphone and trying to identify the women in them, who may be additional victims.

"The defendants may have traveled together to various festivals and locations since 2015 including Burning Man in Black Rock Desert, Nevada, Dirtybird Campout festival in Silverado, Splash House festival in Palm Springs, and landmarks near Page, Arizona", the district attorney's office said in a news release. Officials say she woke up and screamed for help, prompting a neighbor to contact police.

Riley is an aspiring teacher who worked occasionally as a substitute teacher in Fullerton, Senior Deputy District Attorney Michael Carroll said.

"We believe they used their good looks and charm to lower the defenses of their prey, " Rackauckas said.

The district attorney's office asked that any women who think they may have been sexually assaulted by the couple contact the office's lead investigator, Eric Wiseman. "We don't want this to happen to any more women". "And then (Cerissa) introduces her to Robicheaux and they invite her to a party".

Mr Robicheaux and Ms Riley are accused of possessing a large quantity of drugs, including GHB (considered a date-rape drug), psychedelic mushrooms, ecstasy and cocaine.

They are not believed to have used medical anesthetic-type of drugs, Rackauckas said. Attorneys for Robicheaux and Riley say their clients "have been aware of these accusations for a number of months" and they unequivocally deny "all allegations of non-consensual sex".
