Borderlands 2 Coming to PlayStation VR in December

The long beloved Borderlands series has been around for almost a decade, and to mark the momentous occasion, 2K and Gearbox announced that Borderlands 2 VR will be coming to PlayStation VR on December 14, 2018.

It has been years since the Borderlands series was last in the spotlight.

Some character-specific skills have changed as well, either to better blend that new bullet-time mode into the rest of the game or to address abilities that have less utility now that this version of Borderlands 2 forgoes the cooperative multiplayer element. There's also the option to Teleport, which lets you glide across the world of Pandora to truly take in the handsome sights.

Borderlands 2 VR will be single-player only, so keep that in mind. There's no word on whether or not "Borderlands 2 VR" will touch down on another VR platform in the future.

Being a VR title, driving has been moved to the first person perspective as well, where the steering and speed are managed by the PlayStation Move motion controllers, but the weapon turret is tied to where the headset is pointed at.

Also, nothing is known about the upcoming Borderlands 3 as the studio is keeping it under the wrap for time being as the game was not showcased at E3 2018.

Unfortunately, a few cuts have also been made for Borderlands 2 VR. Just past year, Skyrim VR released for PlayStation VR and was quite similar to the original game but had just been adapted into VR.

The original four playable Vault Hunters from Borderlands 2 are back, along with their special abilities and BAMF-modified skill trees.

Get Virtually Rich: Borderlands VR brings shoot-and-loot mechanics to VR with bazillions of procedurally-generated guns and gear, each with their own capabilities and modifiers. On December 14, 2018, PS VR owners will step into Pandora with the launch of Borderlands 2 VR. Procedurally-generated shields, grenades, relics, class mods and more round out your Vault Hunter's arsenal for maximum power and mayhem.
