Impemba and Allen broomed from Tigers broadcasts

Fox Sports Detroit will replace longtime Tigers broadcasters Rod Allen and Mario Impemba for next season after an altercation took place in early September, per Anthony Fenech of the Detroit Free Press.

While the Detroit Tigers have a lot of work to do this offseason after barely winning 60 games on the season, there will be one change that is official.

Impemba had been the primary play-by-play voice for the Tigers since 2002, with Allen joining him the following season.

The Detroit Tigers will have new two new broadcasters in the television booth next season.

Allen, 58, was the chief color commentator since 2003.

Neither has spoken publicly since the alleged incident.

After the fight, the pair were suspended from the booth and the Tigers brought in Matt Shepard and Kirk Gibson to call the rest of their games. But if it is the end for Mario and Rod, this ends a almost 17 year association for the two with FSD.
