Justin Bieber looks distraught with Hailey Baldwin after Selena news

Selena Gomez has reportedly been hospitalised twice in the past two weeks after suffering a reported emotional breakdown.

However, weeks later the singer had to be re-admitted as her low blood cell count persisted. Gomez didn't attend the American Music Awards last night and the site notes that her team has been virtually silent recently.

Members of her family then drove her to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, before being released several days later.

"Soon after she was admitted she insisted on leaving, but doctors said she couldn't", reported TMZ. She had "a meltdown" and "freaked out", trying to rip the IVs out of her arm.

Fans of the star took to social media on Thursday to show their support and pray for her. "After further monitoring it was decided that Selena would seek treatment at a facility".

Gomez has reportedly been admitted to a psychiatric facility on the East Coast, where she is receiving dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), a form of treatment she received in the past.

A source confirmed to UsWeekly Selena "is now resting and getting treatment for a series of panic attacks related to ongoing medical issues".

The singer later announced that she would be taking a break from social media. "Kindness and encouragement only for a bit!"

Selena previously booked herself into a Tennessee facility in 2016 after she also suffered anxiety and depression during her Revival tour, Teen Vogue reports.

"Just remember, negative comments can hurt anybody's feelings".

Gomez has frequently been open with both her mental and physical health, including her lupus diagnosis.
