Samsung launches the Galaxy A9

Samsung launches the Galaxy A9

The phone comes with a 6.30-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080 pixels by 2220 pixels.

You got three rear cameras? Additionally it comes with 6 GB of RAM and is running Android 8.0 out of the box. The phone is powered by an octa-core processor with 6GB/8GB RAM and 128GB storage, which is expandable up to 512GB via a microSD card slot.

LG now hold the record for the most cameras on a smartphone with the V40 ThinQ and its seems Samsung has chose to take it a step further. The front camera of the phone supports face unlock feature. Next up is the 10MP telephoto lens with an f/2.4 aperture and 2x optical zoom. Next, we have an 8MP 120-degree ultra-wide-angle lens that will provide more background in the shot that you are about to snap. Directly below that is a secondary 5MP sensor that is only there to capture depth information for better portrait images.

The 3,800mAh battery charges over USB-C and Samsung continues to retain the 3.5mm headphone jack. What we can say is that this is a feat of engineering that other companies will likely try to mimic or are already testing.

The phone is set to sit beneath the brands devices, the flagship, Galaxy S9 and Note 9 phones which were released earlier this year as the "best of its mid-range devices".

The Galaxy A9 will be available in selected markets from November. Looking at its hardware specifications coupled with its monstrous quad-camera setup, don't expect it to come cheap. Two of which - Bubblegum Pink and Lemonade Blue - feature a fun colour gradient, while the third - Caviar Black - is a dead serious solid black. With the introduction of quad-camera setups, Samsung is also rumored to include a new cooling system that improves heat dissipation in the camera area.
