Britain's Prince Charles vows not to meddle as king

Britain's Prince Charles vows not to meddle as king

The Prince has given in-depth interviews to the documentary called "Prince, Son and Heir: Charles at 70" while programme makers have also been given exclusive access to follow the royal for the past 12 months as they made the show.

In Accra, the Ghanaian capital, Prince Charles gave a speech about the threat of climate change and his concerns for the future, adding that he worries about his grandchildren and environmental issues such as plastic pollution.

Abuja - The Prince of Wales and heir to the British throne, Prince Charles; and his wife, the Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla, have arrived Abuja for a three day visit to Nigeria.

The documentary captures the prince in both public and private, including images of him feeding vegetable scraps to his chickens and collecting their eggs at his Highgrove home.

As well as showing his official work there are amusing moments, as he's seen talking to turkeys on his Dumfries House estate, or going on an impromptu shopping spree in a market in Vanuatu, which leaves his team desperately trying to find local currency to pay for his purchases.

Meanwhile, the Duchess of Cornwall is full of praise for her husband and for the energy he has for his royal role. "And I would love to tell him to pace himself, but I'm afraid that's not gonna happen". "Just because he's my father that doesn't mean I can just sort of go, 'Okay, that's all, I'll take it from here.' Err, no, that is what I wanted to say but erm...and I was very grateful for him to be able to do that".

"I've never been a monarchist, but if you believe in a monarchy, then I don't see why the monarch now, or in the future, should be expected to be completely viewless and silent on everything", he told the Press Association.

"I'm not that stupid", Charles said when asked if his public campaigning would continue after he succeeds his mother, Queen Elizabeth II.

According to an extensive profile of Prince Charles inVanity Fair, the future king and his eldest son couldn't be more different in their handling of the press-with Charles embracing attention and William being all "Thank U, Next". 'Cause when he's there, he's brilliant.

He said: "You know how frustrated he gets, when we're sitting down at dinner and we sit there and speak to him and he gets so frustrated".
