Gordon Hayward Open to Coming Off Bench

Gordon Hayward Open to Coming Off Bench

Jaylen Brown had an efficient offensive night with 18 points on 8-of-14 shooting in 25 minutes, Jayson Tatum hit four 3-pointers on his way to 14 points in 27 minutes, and Gordon Hayward bounced back from an 0-for-6 start with four makes in his final six attempts on his way to 11 points, four rebounds and four assists in 29 minutes.

During the recent six-game stretch, Chicago has shot below 40 percent from the field in four of those contests and the story gets even worse in regards to 3-point efficiency. And for the Boston Celtics, that's a problem.

And after the big blowout win, the road will get obviously harder for the Celtics, as they will host the Toronto Raptors and Utah Jazz in a Friday-Saturday back-to-back at TD Garden. After a slow start through the first quarter, Boston started pulling away from the Bulls in the second quarter and never let up.

If it were to come to that, Hayward says he would be fine with it. There's still a lot of games left to be played. They held a 22-point lead entering the fourth quarter and emptied their bench.

The Bulls, 103-98 losers to the Dallas Mavericks at home Monday night, are 4-10 on the season as they've had to go without the injured Lauri Markkinen and Kris Dunn.

But things aren't as lovely in Boston as they should be right now, and Hayward clearly isn't performing at the level the Celtics wanted him to when they signed him in free agency last summer.

With Brown and Hayward on the floor to balance the bench energy of Semi Ojeleye, Terry Rozier and Marcus Smart to start the second quarter the Celtics took control on 3-pointers from Smart and Brown before Tatum returned for a 3-pointer and 37-30 lead with 4:49 on the clock.

Although there was rarely any points to be had from Chicago's offense, the lone bright spot from the game came from newly backup Point Guard, Shaquille Harrison. "We're not a well-coached team right now, that's pretty obvious".

"We were prepared. I think that we've been prepared other games but we've got to match that with the attitude and effort to execute on both ends", Irving said. Last season, the Bulls managed to produce only three wins through their first 23 games.
