Michael Avenatti Arrested in LA on Domestic Violence Charge

He said Avenatti was arrested about 2pm on Wednesday on the same block as his apartment in Los Angeles.

"Our sources say the alleged incident occurred Tuesday night, but there was another confrontation Wednesday between the two at an exclusive apartment building in the Century City area of L.A.", TMZ reports.

The unnamed woman was seen Wednesday running out of the apartment and screaming into her cell phone while wearing sunglasses to hide the alleged bruises on her face. TMZ also said that Avenatti soon showed up and was heard to scream, "She hit me first".

He allegedly left a woman's face "swollen and bruised", according to TMZ.

But TMZ later said that it had made a mistake in its reporting. Any accusations to the contrary are fabricated and meant to do harm to my reputation.

Over the past few months Michael Avenatti has emerged as someone standing up for women who were abused by powerful men.

Following his representation of Julie Swetnick for her allegations against Kavanaugh, Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley said in October that he was referring Avenatti and Swetnick to the Justice Department.

"I am looking forward to a full investigation at which point I am confident that I will be fully exonerated", he added. This article is not true as it pertains to my client. This was stemming from a domestic violence incident.

Donald Trump is going to have a field day with this.

Avenatti bailed out and held a brief news conference, saying, "I have never struck a woman". It is not clear how Storie-Avenatti's statement to Buzzfeed might change this story.
