National Football League receiver Bryant tweets of 'ultimate test' amid injury reports

All of that momentum was brought to a grinding halt when Bryant reportedly tore his achilles on the last play of practice today and will be out for the rest of the season.

The injury came during Bryant's second practice with the Saints and although he had been with the team for just two days, he clearly made an impact, because multiple Saints players were tweeting their well-wishes after the injury happened.

Wide receiver Dez Bryant tweeted his dismay Friday as an injury derailed his return to the National Football League in just his second practice with the New Orleans Saints.

Bryant has indicated on social media that the injury will be challenging to overcome, writing on his verified Twitter account, "Things was just starting to heat up for me". "I won't question the man upstairs. this is the ultimate test. thank you everyone for the prayers". It's a brutal injury, especially for Bryant, who seemed overjoyed to be in New Orleans.

Bryant, who has been unemployed since being cut by the Cowboys April 13, joined the Saints on Wednesday after agreeing to a one-year, $600,000 deal.

Bryant, a three-time Pro Bowl selection, was optimistic about joining the Saints after experiencing an acrimonious split with the Dallas Cowboys earlier this year. He led the league in receiving TDs in 2014.
