OnePlus 6T With Waterdrop Notch, In-Display Fingerprint Sensor Launched In India

After going through a countless number of leaks, the OnePlus 6T is now official and it's way better than the OnePlus 6. It does come with a price increase as usual, but starting at $549, it's still a great choice. Primary among those being the inclusion of an in-display fingerprint sensor along with a new frontal design characterized by a tear-drop notch at the top. It's now under the display. The company claims it can unlock the handset in just 0.53 seconds. I went to the OnePlus 6 popup store a few months ago, and while there was a line down the block, passersby didn't know about OnePlus. Connectivity options include Dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, WiFi, GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C port. Sensors on board include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, digital compass, gyroscope, and proximity sensor.

OnePlus says using a screen guard or a tempered glass on your 6T's display for extra protection should not impact the Screen Unlock feature. Instead of the regular notch, this one comes with a much smaller "teardrop" notch.

The battery has had a bigger change though, as it has gone up from 3,300mAh on the OnePlus 6 to a much healthier 3,700mAh on the OnePlus 6T. The phone also ditches the 3.5mm headphone jack. While it doesn't seem like a big upgrade on paper, the OnePlus 6T has gone from an average size battery for 2018, to a phone with one of the larger batteries out right now. Or for an even better comparison, the Galaxy Note 9 with a similar 6.4-inch screen is $999.

The older OnePlus 6, on the other hand, has a 6.28-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display having an aspect ratio of 19:9 and Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The plan will entitle them to 3GB 4G data per day with unlimited voice calls, SMS and access to Jio's premium applications. It's coming to the OnePlus 6 too.

The phone has a 3700mAh battery which obviously supports Dash Charge with a 5V 4A charger.

The OnePlus 6T will start at $550 and will be available to buy from T-Mobile and from the online OnePlus store on November 1. The company's fast charging can still give a roughly 50% charge in half an hour when using OnePlus' included cable and power adapter.

"Our rationale is that the person who wants to take the device swimming shouldn't be able to raise the cost of the device for everyone; that's our OnePlus way of looking at it". The OnePlus 6T will also work with Verizon's CDMA network. It's $579 for 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, and $629 for the specced out 8GB RAM and 256GB storage model.

The available colors also differ, as while both phones come in Midnight Black and Mirror Black, the OnePlus 6 is additionally available in Amber Red and a limited-edition Silk White - though don't be surprised if the OnePlus 6T gets additional shades down the line.
