Protest at Fox News host's home investigated as possible hate crime

A group of protesters sieged the home of the Fox News host Tucker Carlson and his family on Wednesday night, ringing his doorbell and chanting threatening messages.

Video of the incident outside the "Tucker Carlson Tonight" host's home was posted on social media by Smash Racism, D.C. The same group made headlines in September after activists confronted Sen.Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and his wife inside a restaurant during Brett Kavanaugh's Supreme Court confirmation hearings. "We know where you sleep at night" outside of Carlson's Washington home, according to Fox News.

In a separate video, posted by the Daily Caller reporter Benny Johnson on Twitter, the group seems to threaten Carlson's family, telling the Fox News host he is "not safe". "Tonight, we remind you that you are not safe either", the group posted in a now-deleted tweet. Twitter has since suspended the group's account, but the video can still be viewed on the accounts of journalists who condemned the situation. Carlson told The Post. Obviously don't do this, but also, take no pleasure in it happening.

"They weren't protesting anything", Carlson said of the crowd.

In an interview with Fox News' Brian Kilmeade, Carlson, who on his show often exposes globalist George Soros and his shadowy dealings, said the mob was an attempt to intimidate him.

"I think Tucker is a awful influence on modern America but that doesn't justify harassing him at home", Boot said in a tweet. "Go high, not low", CNN commentator Max Boot tweeted.

Smash Racism held three "From Resistance to Revolution" conferences at St. Stephen and the Incarnation Episcopal Church in November and December of previous year.

He even suggested in a tweet that the only reason Carlson's home wasn't on fire was because his comrades had practiced "restraint".

"Here's the problem, I have four children", he said by phone. Carlson said. "If they're talking about pipe bombs. how do you live like that?"

Fox News senior political analyst Brit Hume decried it as "revolting, and frightening". "But, you know, I have five other people in my house, and maybe they do", he said.

"Get a permit for a protest outside Carlson's office if you want", Stelter wrote.

Carlson, a longtime D.C. resident, said he went to "great lengths" to keep his home address private because of his family, who were all "very upset" by the protesters. "I can't have my kids stay at home alone now".

"I dont think I should be threatened in our house", he said.
