Rams CB Marcus Peters: "Tell Sean Payton to keep talking that (expletive)"

Rams CB Marcus Peters:

A rematch with the New Orleans Saints can't come soon enough for Los Angeles Rams cornerback Marcus Peters. "We thought we really liked that matchup - a lot".

Peters reacted sharply in the Rams' locker room Thursday when asked about postgame comments by Payton in which the veteran coach said the Saints liked the matchup of receiver Michael Thomas going against Peters, a former Pro Bowl selection.

After a few seconds to think about it Thursday, Peters had more to say about Payton.

Peters heard it, and he fired right back at Payton.

Of course, the Saints and Rams are on a collision course for another meeting in the NFC playoffs.

Hopefully, these two teams do get to meet up again in the playoffs.

"Tell Sean Payton to keep talking that s--". So tell him keep talking that (expletive), and I hope he sees me soon.

Peters admitted after Sunday's game, in similarly colorful language, that he hasn't been playing well lately.

And Payton clearly saw the same thing on film.

Thomas performed so well that his head coach, Sean Payton, may have even taken a subtle shot at the job, or lack thereof, that Peters did defending him - something that Peters didn't appreciate too much.

Thomas had a career day against the Rams and set a new franchise record for most receiving yards in a single game with 211. It might be worth it just to see if Peters and Payton had anything to say to each other after the game.
