'Strictly Come Dancing' Results: Danny John-Jules And Amy Dowden Leave Competition

"And I just think that as I said before, everything I have done on this show is because of Amy".

It wasn't a unanimous decision from the judges, with Craig saving Danny but the others all voted to save Graeme, who was in the dance-off for a second time.

"She did look miserable when the camera was on her, but I'm sure she is a lovely lady". I told myself I'm not going to cry tonight.

After Danny's results were revealed he said: "It's been a great experience and I'm just so unhappy I didn't get Amy to where she needed to be".

"I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the knowledge I have taken away with me, courtesy of your good self".

Hours earlier, Danny had tweeted a kind message to the younger dancer, saying he wished he had been more grateful when they were working together.

The pair went into Saturday's show involved in controversy after claims of a nasty backstage bust up.

Danny previously implied in a Twitter post that the negative stories being written about him were rooted in racism, writing: "I take great pride being hunted down by Khaki Wearing, Doberman holding, Tobacco chewing, Cross eyed, Cousin producing, Banjo playing, Chair rocking, Night riding, Sheet wearing, Pointy hatted, illiterate, hacks [whose] truth is driven by hate".

Amy explained to presenter Zoe Ball: 'Things did get a little intense the other day in rehearsals. Do you know what? You know you don't get to see people with their dance partners through the week, only if they're in the next studio to you. I would never bite the hand that feeds me.

Both couples then performed their routines again, with Graeme and Oti doing their Salsa to Follow The Leader by Soca Boys whilst Danny and Amy performed their Samba to Feels Like Home by Sigala. I am more than happy.

The Red Dwarf star was booted off the BBC dancing show days after he was branded a "bully". She's the boss. She wears the trousers.
