Trump Rages at Mueller Probe: 'Total Mess...Nuts...Screaming...Shouting...Threatening...Disgrace...'

Following a tumultuous week since the midterm elections, President Trump on Thursday angrily unloaded on a number of favorite targets - while calling the U.S. "the envy of the world" because of his presidency.

President Donald Trump is raging against special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation, and that has some wondering whether the probe is nearing its conclusion.

The text of Trump's tweets: "The inner workings of the Mueller investigation are a total mess. A TOTAL WITCH HUNT LIKE NO OTHER IN AMERICAN HISTORY!" he continued.

President Trump is turning the tables by claiming the only players involved in the Russian Federation collusion narrative are Democrats. They have found no collusion and have gone absolutely nuts. "The Mueller investigation has already uncovered serious crimes committed by the President's closest associates", the signatories said in the letter. "They are a disgrace to our Nation and don't care how many lives the [sic] ruin", he wrote in the first section of a two-part tweet, without elaborating about Mueller's supposed hardline tactics.

Whatever the explanation, Mr Trump has appeared in a sour mood of late, lashing out at the media and, according to background sources, considering changes to his top staff.

It's been a quiet few days, but that seems certain to change.

As a result, they've called into question the constitutionality of Whitaker's appointment and have argued President Trump doesn't have the authority to appoint a non-Senate confirmed individual to the acting attorney general position. Ironically, Whelan was the principal deputy assistant attorney general, but under the same Vacancies Reform Act, he was temporarily serving the place of the Senate-confirmed head of OLC during a vacancy very similar to the one involving Whitaker. But, for new inventors, it's hard to tell a legitimate service from a scam.

Mr Whitaker, who has been appointed acting attorney general, has been open about his concerns over the scope of Mr Mueller's inquiry.

In a two-paragraph legal filing on Wednesday, Mueller offered a rare glimpse into the status of the probe and noted that former Trump presidential campaign aide Rick Gates is cooperating with prosecutors in several ongoing investigations.

"You want the president to think about it", he said.

Four people connected with Mr Trump's campaign and presidency have been charged and further indictments could be issued.
