Huawei formalizes the date of the presentation of the Nova 4

The Galaxy A8s will become official on December 10, announced Samsung, and this announcement came through Samsung's official "Galaxy" account on Weibo (Chinese social network). Also, the front will have just one camera, which is obvious since there will be a single hole in the Infinity-O Display as compared to the alleged CAD renders of the Galaxy S10 Plus that surfaced yesterday. The Samsung Galaxy A8s was recently also certified at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the USA hinting that the handset also be launched in the USA soon.

After Huawei confirmed the launch date of its new Nova 4 smartphone (December 17), Samsung has now confirmed that it will be launching a new smartphone - Galaxy A8s in China on December 10. The Galaxy A8s will feature a 6.39-inch fullHD+ (2340 x 1080) IPS LCD display, at least according to rumors, and that is quite interesting as the company usually includes OLED displays on all of its smartphones these days, but these displays have allegedly been manufactured by BOE. The screen on both Nova 4 and Galaxy A8s are LCDs. The addition allows the companies to place front cameras and sensors at the top but some tech fans aren't happy with the look.

Other than Huawei and Samsung, it seems that Lenovo may also introduce a smartphone with a similar design which features a front circular camera cutout. However, it has been confirmed that the device will be running on Android 8.0 Oreo.

In the previous generation Galaxy S, A and Note series, the Infinity Display cascaded to the left and right sides, up to the middle of the frame as well as on top and the base, with only tiny bezels making up the forehead and chin. With a small hole at the corner, this approach offers a less obstructive full-screen experience compared to a notched display, especially while playing videos. It will also come with a USB Type-C port and might be Samsung's first device to ditch the headphone jack.

The Galaxy A8s is slated for an early January release in China. On the rear, there are triple cameras arranged in the same way as on the Huawei P20 Pro.
