Macaulay Culkin relives ‘Home Alone’ for Google commercial

Google Assistant: The ad above features the Google Home and Google Assistant helping Culkin complete his tasks.

Culkin has also capitalized on his Home Alone legacy by teaming up with Angry Video Game Nerd YouTube channel, a source for reviewing awful retro video games, and chose to revisit some of the games that were inspired by the film and released on the NES, PlayStation and more.

Well... wonder no more because child star Macaulay Culkin has reprised his role in the much-loved holiday film for Google's hilarious new Christmas ad. Culkin was 10 years old when the original film was released.

Whatever, we're sucked in, let's dive into Home Alone Again.

Google Assistant replies: "You have one event called, 'House to yourself'".

Opening the advert with the classic Home Alone music, all the feels come pouring back straight away as the actor hops from scene to scene with many recognisable moments.

At one point when Kevin told Google to "begin Operation Kevin" it gets a bit Matilda, what with the fire self-igniting and all - but we can get over that in no time.

"Hey Google, what's on my calendar today?" he asks.

You get the iconic shaving scene, the bed-jumping scene, the eating ice-cream and watching movies scene, and of course, a "keep the change ya filthy animal" nod.

Santa Claus, Jesus, and Kevin McCallister aka the real spirit of Christmas. It has also put out a "behind-the-scenes" for how it made this commercial, which is always a pretty cool video to check out.

"They did a very good job on the set decoration, the props, and all the shots were spot on", Culkin says in the video.
