Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri will not let Willian join Barcelona in January

But reports claim Barcelona have upped their interest in Willian, and are prepared to offer a tasty deal this month.

Various British newspapers are reporting that Barcelona have reignited their interest in Chelsea winger Willian and have proposed a swap deal which would involve Brazilian winger Malcom moving in the other direction.

Barca tried to sign Willian last summer but all the three bids made for the Brazil worldwide was rejected with the final offer worth more than £55m.

According to Daily Mail, Barcelona are set to launch a £50 million player-plus cash bid for Willian.

Barcelona are considering making a second bid for Willian after having an offer rejected by Chelsea on Thursday. "You are trying to let me speak about something I don't know".

"You have to ask the club about the market, if you ask me I will get in trouble because I don't know the answer", said Sarri when asked about Willian.

"I think he can do better, he can do better because of his potential but he is really very important to us, so I think it is impossible to lose him in January".

But he also believes the 30-year-old can score more goals and improve his work off the ball.

If Morata does leave, Sarri will be insisting on a replacement.

Defensively Chelsea haven't been too bad in the Premier League - they've only conceded 16 goals in 21 games - but going forward they've struggled somewhat.

"With Eden [Hazard] as a striker, we need wingers".
