Jamal Adams' tackle sent Patriots' mascot to the hospital

Adams was on the sidelines at Pro Bowl training in Orlando, Florida, earlier this week when he spotted the New England mascot nearby.

In the video, Jamal Adams can be seen shouting "I'm finna go knock this mascot out!"

I'm not going to sit here and get outraged over this, even if I feel a little duped for writing a story about the Pats mascot being hospitalized because of what Adams told multiple reporters.

'He [Pat Patriot] was running around and everybody was booing him, so I said, "You know what?" The NFL is calling my phone, blowing me up, saying that I put him in the hospital so I gotta go check on him, make sure he's OK. 'I didn't hit him that hard, man. My intention was never to hurt was all about just a joke but I definitely want to check on him and make sure everything is good.

"They're not happy with me right now".

Many people thought the stunt was planned ahead of time, but apparently that was not the case. The Patriots spokesman described the unidentified man as "sore". It was clear that Adams was trying to be amusing and playful, but the hit was a big one, and there is no doubt that it was taken a bit too far.

Tweets and videos posted in a thread on Freezing Cold Takes Exposed show evidence that the entire incident (outside of Adams actually leveling Pat Patriot with a tackle) may have been overblown. So I have to go check on him.

Maybe this is the end of the Jamal Adams-Pat Patriot saga.

He said in a separate interview that he didn't regret the tackle. Or maybe Pat Patriot could sue. He was the Jets' first-round pick in 2017, going No. 6 overall.
