Jayme Closs, Wisconsin teen who went missing in October, found alive

Missing 13-year-old Jayme Closs has been found alive in Douglas County, according to Barron County Sheriff's Department.

"We want to thank the Douglas Co Sheriff's Department and agencies assisting them tonight", Fitzgerald said Thursday.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office said Closs was located in The Town of Gordon, which is in the far southern part of the county, at 4:43 p.m.

We are planning a press briefing approximately 10 am tomorrow at the Sheriff's Department in Barron.

Allard said she and other family members didn't have a lot of details about what happened, and they were asked by authorities not to say too much about what they do know.

Robert Naiberg said that nothing seemed amiss at the gathering, and that Jayme was "quiet as always".

"To all of you who joined us in keeping Jayme Closs in our thoughts and prayers.tonight our prayers have been answered!"

On the sheriff department's Facebook page later on Thursday evening, Fitzgerald wrote that Closs would be reunited with her family that night.

'Finally, we want to especially thank the family for their support and patience while this case was ongoing.

KARE 11 in Minnesota reports that Closs was found at Eau Claire Acres, a small development east of Gordon, Wisconsin on Highway Y, according to the Eau Claire Board chairman.

Closs vanished on October 15 after her parents were fatally shot at their home in Barron County, located about 80 miles northeast of Minneapolis.

She has not been seen since October.

Sheriff Fitzgerald said in November that he kept similar cases in the back of his mind as he worked to find Jayme, including the abduction of Elizabeth Smart, who was taken from her Salt Lake City home in 2002, when she was 14 years old. I figured if they hadn't found her by now that the person that did this didn't want her dead, so I had hope.

Jayme went missing on October 15, when her parents, James and Denise Closs, were both found shot to death in their rural home.

On Oct. 15, officers responding to a 911 call for help arrived at the home of James, 56, and Denise Closs, 46.
