Jets To Hire Adam Gase As Next Head Coach

The Jets are banking on Adam Gase to make the most of a second chance.

Not counting Bill Belichick's one day stint in 2000, Gase is the first head coach hired by the Jets with past head coaching experience since Bill Parcells (1997).

The Miami Herald has reported Flores is "near if not at the top of the Dolphins' list".

Gase, who was sacked by the Dolphins after his third season in Miami netted just seven wins, was considered one of the top coaching candidates despite posting back-to-back losing seasons with the Fins.

Gase followed coach John Fox to Chicago in 2015 to be the Bears' offensive coordinator. The 40-year-old coach worked as an assistant with Detroit, San Francisco and Denver before being promoted to offensive coordinator by the Broncos in 2013 and drawing rave reviews from Peyton Manning.

The Jets job was widely considered to be one of the most attractive among the eight coaching vacancies in the National Football League this offseason.

The Jets did not have a great 2018 season under Todd Bowles as they went a disappointing 4-12.

We'll keep you posted as Gase begins to assemble his staff in the coming days.

The New York Jets will hire former Miami Dolphins head coach Adam Gase as their head coach, according to multiple reports. It was not clear if Rhule was offered the job.

McCarthy was reportedly heavily interested in landing the Jets' job.
