Jets Twitter absolutely loves the Gregg Williams hire

The Jets were reportedly targeting Williams for their DC job no matter who was hired as head coach.

Adam Gase hasn't coached a game for the New York Jets, but he's already become a bit of a joke.

Jets have reached an agreement with Gregg Williams to be their defensive coordinator.

He was the defensive coordinator before and has served the same role with the Rams, Saints, Jaguars, Redskins, Oilers and Titans.

The Jets coaching staff is coming together piece by piece.

Cleveland finished the season 5-3 under Williams' command.

Williams, who was the Browns' defensive coordinator and interim head coach last season after Hue Jackson was sacked, comes with a reputation of being aggressive and tough. If Williams returns, expect the 4-3 to return as well. Jamal Adams is a player who could see more work as a linebacker/safety hybrid, especially on third-down, in Williams system.

NFL Network also reported the Redskins met with Steve Wilks last week before he agreed to take a new job.

Given the Jets inability to provide pressure with their front four, blitzing has become a necessary part of their defensive scheme making the Williams hire make all the more sense.
