Oscars 2019: Kevin Hart says he definitely won't return as host

In December, the Academy announced that they'd tapped Hart to host the upcoming awards ceremony.

"It gets no more energy from me", Hart told Michael Strahan on Good Morning America. But he doesn't want "people to think there's a thing about me and the Academy".

"I'm not shutting down the questions", he told Strahan. "It's not in God's plan right now". "I'm gonna be me and stand my ground". It's already pre-determined. I'm not anxious, I'm not shaken, I'm not upset.

"You will not hear me say anything else about it", he insisted during his GMA interview. "So hopefully people can look at me and the situations I've been in in life and understand there's always growth". Hart has also said he previously addressed the controversial tweets and stand-up routines, but outlets including CNN and New York Magazine's Vulture could find evidence of an apology until after Hart made a decision to step down.

"It's always been a huge relief to me that after Snow White, the Oscars got their act together and avoided any further controversy and embarrassment", Lowe sarcastically said to the Times after asked whether or not the Academy learned its lesson.

"I'm over it. There's no more conversation about it ..." And I'm about today.

"If [the apology] is accepted, great", he said. If it's not, it's nothing that I can control. Former Oscars host Ellen Degeneres had earlier said that she'd contacted the Academy in an effort to help re-hire Hart. I'm not saying how I've changed anymore ... I'm not giving no more, because it's endless.

Hart refused to apologise, saying he "chose to pass" as he has "addressed this several times before".

Hart and Cranston tried to be as authentic to the characters as they could, the actor said, adding that the film really dives into perceptions, considering the two men come from two very different backgrounds. You want me to be the face of this community because of this joke? If it's not, there's nothing I can do.

This all comes just 24 hours after addressing the backlash in a lengthy segment on his SiriusXM radio show Straight to the Hart, that truly dissected every angle of this thing.
