Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Proposes 70-Percent Tax Plan On Top Earners

Her comment referenced the fact that her proposed tax increase would only apply to Americans who make more than $10 million each year.

Ocasio-Cortez's comments come in response to a wave of criticism aimed toward Tlaib, who spoke candidly during a reception for progressive group MoveOn.org.

"I have heard, the Republicans believe that it is scandalous when women are dancing", she wrote.

If Ocasio-Cortez's response wasn't enough, some of her supporters took the belligerence to the next level by threatening Scalise, who was almost murdered previous year by a Democratic terrorist. They resort to jackets and college videos to show that people like Ocasio-Cortez should not have a place in Washington.

Ocasio-Cortez retweeted the post on Friday with the caption, "You hate me coz you ain't me, fellas".

Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez, however, handled the video with grace and humour, as did her supporters.

Ever since her surprise victory during Democratic primaries in June over Joseph Crowley, who had run unopposed for more than a decade and was seen as a contender to become the next speaker of the House of Representatives.

"Wait till they find out Congresswomen dance too!"

It's been an eventful week for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, from the swearing in of the 116th Congress to the storm on social media over a much-discussed video of her dancing as a student at Boston University.

While telling journalist Anderson Cooper she is certainly willing to compromise in order to get things accomplished in Congress, Ocasio-Cortez, in a preview clip, says "It's just about what we choose to compromise".

With her past as a NY bartender, Ocasio-Cortez is a figurehead of the new wave of young Socialists who entered Congress after the midterm elections, bringing misguided perspectives and more division to the legislature. On Sunday, she'll be profiled on 60 Minutes, where she will talk about her green agenda for zero carbon emissions, which may even mean a top tax rate of up to 70%. "Have a great weekend everyone", she tweeted, with a video of her dancing outside her new office on Capitol Hill. "Abraham Lincoln made the radical decision to sign the Emancipation Proclamation".
