Newcastle boss Rafael Benitez 'didn't like' challenge on keeper for Wolves equaliser

Wolves goal vs Newcastle: Should Willy Boly's goal have counted?

Newcastle were seconds away from victory before Wolves defender Wily Boly popped up in second-half stoppage time to snatch an equaliser.

Carl Ikeme has praised Wolverhampton Wanderers after they fought back to secure a 1-1 draw with Newcastle United in Monday's Premier League game.

It was the second time Newcastle had conceded an injury time goal to Wolves after Matt Doherty's victor in December.

When asked if Newcastle should have had a free-kick after Boly's challenge, the Spaniard added: "In England they don't understand the rules so you can say whatever you want to say". I can say many things but it will not change anything.

But when asked if there are any problems between the two players, Benitez said after the game: 'No, it's obvious the disappointment is for everyone. We have been here for years and it's still very hard to explain that.

Newcastle's record signing Miguel Almiron, the Paraguayan striker who joined from Major League Soccer side Atlanta United, gave the visiting fans plenty to cheer about as he made his debut. "We have one more point but it is a pity because we could have had three".

"You can analyse it but I'm really disappointed to concede this way against a good team".

Great to see Fabian Schar at number 15 in the in-form list, retaining last week's position after another very good defensive display against Wolves and the assist for Hayden's goal. These kind of balls in, you can do a little bit better, just punch the ball and finished.
