Red Bull unveil first Honda-powered vehicle in one-off livery

Ricciardo has left Red Bull to join Renault with Verstappen to be partnered by young Frenchman Pierre Gasly.

But it is understood that the former world champions will revert to their normal colours in time for the season-opening race in Melbourne on March 17.

Red Bull have unveiled a striking new livery design on a vehicle they hope will fire them towards a first championship success in six years.

The RB15 vehicle was launched with temporary red-and-black livery.

Red Bull will be powered by the Japanese manufacturer this year after ending their fractious relationship with Renault.

In a short video posted on Twitter, Verstappen offered a positive assessment of his initial run on board the new vehicle.

"What I'm most looking forward to is starting the season and seeing how the whole team is operating together with Honda and how the engine is performing together with the chassis".

Daniel Ricciardo's departure to Renault has opened the door for 23-year-old Pierre Gasly to stake his claim as a race victor of the future. "It was a very positive day so very happy about it".

Max Verstappen was given the privilege to drive the RB15 for the first time ever and fans noticed that the Honda engine sounded better than all other engines on the grid.

"At the moment I am of course very optimistic, but also realistic". "The first two or three weeks feel like they are good to have and then after a break you want to get going".

"Of course today is all about filming, but it's also a really valuable opportunity to check that all the systems work and that the auto is fundamentally in good shape before we head to Barcelona next week where hopefully it will be a bit warmer!" said team boss Christian Horner. For sure there will be moments where, as a team, we make mistakes or it's not going as we want it to, but I think what is very important is that the team and Honda, we are pushing really hard to improve the development.
