Vince Gilligan’s ‘Breaking Bad’ Movie Headed To Netflix & AMC

Vince Gilligan’s ‘Breaking Bad’ Movie Headed To Netflix & AMC

Aaron Paul's character Jesse Pinkman is rumoured to be taking the lead.

The feature film based on the blockbuster series Breaking Bad will air on both Netflix and AMC, Deadline reported on Wednesday.

It is believed the movie will follow Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul), the meth chef who was last seen escaping the clutches of neo-Nazis.

Breaking Bad has a long history with the streaming platform - Gilligan has claimed that without Netflix's help in boosting viewing numbers, the show might have been cancelled way back at the end of season two. In addition to Better Call Saul, boss man Vince Gilligan reportedly directed a new film in secret. Reps from Netflix, AMC and Sony Pictures TV declined to comment on the matter. It is being written by Breaking Bad's Vince Gilligan, and given that AMC has United States streaming rights only, it is unclear where it will air in other areas of the world.

It's not a big surprise that there would be a direct follow-up to Breaking Bad, which won numerous awards and is heralded by many as one of the greatest shows in modern television, if not of all time.

"I have not gotten the script, I have not read the script".

Speaking on The Dan Patrick Show, Cranston initially revealed the movie was in the works, explaining he would "absolutely" be part of the project if Gillian asked him. The movie will be a sequel to the events of Breaking Bad, which means it's unlikely we'd see Walter White again, but perhaps some other familiar faces could pop up.

Most fans will recall that White died in the show's 2013 finale, but the actor recently joked that things may not be as they seemed.

A project by the name of Greenbriar - possibly a code name - was listed as staring production in mid-November in Albuquerque, according to the New Mexico Film Office. A source told the paper that "Greenbrier" is the "Breaking Bad" sequel.
